On-Air Television Creative Services Internship

Internship Summary:
The On-Air Television Creative Services Internship exposes students to all aspects of on-air television program promotion. By participating closely with three producers, interns gain first-hand knowledge of how promos are developed, from inception through broadcast. Interns are involved in all phases of the process. We will only select students who can earn course credit at the college level (no exceptions); BEFORE applying, students are required to inquire if they can receive course credit from their counselors, major department heads, or professors in order to be considered! Once a college student has been accepted for the internship, the individual may provide "Proof of Credit" or a signed verification form from an a counselor, major department head, or professor before starting the KQED internshp program. A verification form obtained from the Human Resources department is also required upon acceptance into the KQED internship.

Internship Duties:

  • Writes promotional copy as assigned.
  • Logs tapes.
  • Researches activities.
  • Performs administrative duties as needed.

Internship Qualifications:

  • Must possess a strong interest in television program promotion.
  • Must demonstrate superior oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent attention-to-detail a must.
  • Avid experience a plus.
